Main classifications of air conditioner condensers

In water-cooled condensers, the heat released by the refrigerant is carried away by cooling water; these include shell-and-tube, coaxial, and immersion types. In air-cooled (air-cooled) condensers, the heat released by the refrigerant is carried away by air; these typically employ a serpentine coil structure with fins and use a fan to accelerate airflow. In evaporative and water-spray condensers, the refrigerant condenses inside the tubes while the outside is simultaneously cooled by water and air.
Household air conditioners commonly use finned tube air-cooled condensers.
Automotive condensers and household air conditioner condensers operate on similar principles, but differ significantly in design, structure, and materials. Automotive condensers, designed to fit the limited space and complex operating environment of a car, are compact and efficient, requiring durability and corrosion resistance due to high temperatures, vibration, and dust. Household air conditioner condensers, on the other hand, prioritize ease of installation and maintenance. From a design perspective, automotive condensers are typically mounted at the front of the vehicle, utilizing oncoming airflow for heat dissipation; household air conditioner condensers are generally installed outdoors, equipped with fans to force airflow. Structurally, automotive condensers often employ a flat heat sink design, while household air conditioner condensers mostly use a circular tubular design. In terms of materials, automotive condensers require corrosion-resistant and oxidation-resistant materials, while household air conditioner condensers focus more on basic heat dissipation performance and durability.
