Materials Of Spiral Plate Heat Exchangers

May 07, 2026|

Common materials for spiral plates include carbon steel (such as Q235), low-alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel (such as 304, 316L), austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel, nickel and nickel alloys, titanium and titanium alloys, etc. Specific applicable materials are specified according to industry standard NB/T 47048-2025.

Carbon steel spiral plates are typically 4mm thick, with a maximum thickness of 6mm. Stainless steel spiral plates are typically 3mm thick, with a maximum thickness of 6mm.

During manufacturing, localized heat treatment is often performed after welding to relieve welding stress.
