This unit is good for high pressure and large temperature differences.

It also works for large temperature differences when the tube side fluid easily scales. You can pull out the tube bundle to clean the tube side. In industrial steam condensing systems, steam goes on the shell side and condensate goes on the tube side. The U tube type is a common choice. We have a chemical plant customer in Pakistan. Their reactor jacket needs high‑pressure steam at 1.6 MPa and 200°C. The tube side runs steam. The shell side runs the reaction material. The U tube type has no thermal expansion problem. The unit runs safely.
